History about federations

Hi guys!

         In this post we are going to talk about the history of the differents basketball federations.

      We highlight the federations more importants, for example: FIBA (Federation International Basketball), NBA (National Basketball Association) and FEB (Federación Española de Baloncesto).

       The FIBA (Federation International Basketball) is an association of national organizations wich governs international competition in bastektball. This association was founded in Geneva in 1932. Two years after, The International Olympic Committee (IOC) officially recognized basketball.

        The NBA (National Basketball Association) was founded in New York City on June 1946. The first name was Basketball Association of America (BAA), but on August 1949 was merged with the rival National Basketball League (NBL). Then the league adopted the name National Basketball Association (NBA).

        The FEB (Federación Española de Baloncesto) was founded on July 1923 in Barcelona and the first president was Fidel Bricall. Is the agency that manages the basketball in Spain. In Spain, the basketball is organized similarly to most European countries and FIBA. Also, there is a league of professional club managed by the ACB as first class and other divisions or ranks are organized by the FEB. 

    The FEB represent Spain in official activities and international competitions of basketball held inside and outside the spanish territory.
